List of Movies Made With German Shepherd Dogs in Them Below...and there were/are a LOT MADE!
So you think you have a Star, one that could be in Movies, the next Rin Tin Tin, a beautiful dog that could be posing for Advertisements, or doing Commercials on Television. You might. But in "the business" you really have to prove yourself and your dog. Your dog has to be like an Actor or Actress in the past where they had to be able to sing and dance and play musical instruments and most of all look good....I miss THOSE type of Actors and Actresses!
In other words, pick up a thick Trick Book. After your dog can perform every trick inside that book very well, find an Agent.
German Shepherd Dogs (GSD or GSDs) were especially popular after WWI. In the 1950's and 1960's many American's owned GSDs, so Companies took advantage of this and used GSD photos and drawings in their advertisements. I am sure that many, Many, MANY, GSD owners like me, think that their dogs are smart enough, gorgeous enough, trained well enough, to become Stars....in commercials, movies, you name it. The problem is today, it is not as easy to break the barriers. Now days they tell you that you and your pet must have an agent. Agents are not inexpensive and most have too many clients. Many are just out after the buck and do not even campaign your dog for you. So before you run off and hire an agent for your dog, or other pets, do your homework. Talk to other clients of that agent you are thinking about hiring. There is still a lot of that "who you know", and "in the right place at the right time".
One way to make your dog a Star is to make your own video and post it on the Internet. Let people know it is there and enjoy all the "hits" and nice comments you will receive.
Roy Roger trained his own dog, Bullet, who starred in more than just his Movies and TV Show. Bullet Shown Here in this video of an old Gaines Dog Food Television Commercial. Bullet was also in Coloring and Comic Books as well as his shape was made into toys.
Did you know? Roy Rogers trained his own horses and dogs to do the Trick Work they did. Roy Rogers was a Recorded Singer, Actor, Trainer, Stunt Man. He met Dale Evans while working on a Movie.
In our modern times we had/have Whiplash the Border Collie and the Monkey the Rodeo Entertainment that were seen in Taco John's TV Commercial.
I do not know this dog or monkeys names, in this old photo shown here, but you can see the old, "Nothing is new under the sun." Saying recorded being said by Solomon, from the Old Testament in the Holy Bible.
This is the fist of what we hope becomes many of our own GSD Dogs in a little video. They are just less than 13 weeks old here. We had had a Blizzard the week before and then rain, rain, rain, and more rain. Deron actually carried me, the props, the camera and the chair we set the camera up on, over to the ONE dry area we have on 161 acres! The puppies were a bit distracted since we had not worked them outside in a while, and had not worked them on or with the Hoop, Tunnel or Tires for well over a week. But it was time to get it all on film, well, not all, they actually do a few more little tricks but were a bit too distracted. We hope you will <click> "like" our video.

White German Shepherd Dogs are not (commonly) used for Police or Military or Guide Dogs for the Blind because the white hair is \unsightly\ on Uniforms and Business Suits.
